Last week, the Polish company Szynaka from Lubawa celebrated its 65th anniversary.
The Szynaka Group is one of the largest Polish furniture manufacturers with 3,500 employees and a turnover in 2021 of 1.2 billion zloty (= approx. 260 million euros). The Szynaka Group produces at 8 locations in Poland.
The owner Jan Szynaka leads the family business in the 3rd generation. At the same time, the 10-year cooperation with the BEGA Group was ceremoniously honoured.
The BEGA Group is the largest customer of the Szynaka Group and purchased furniture from them for 72 million euros in 2021. Only in March 2022, both companies extended their cooperation agreement by 5 years.
During the anniversary celebrations, Dieter Hilpert, the founder and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the BEGA Group, received the Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland, the highest award that the Polish President can bestow on foreigners, for his services to the Polish furniture industry.
In his acceptance speech, Dieter Hilpert explained that he has maintained business contacts with Polish companies for 50 years. The BEGA Group, founded in 1999, concentrates its purchasing activities in Poland. More than 70 % of the BEGA Group’s turnover comes from Polish production. With a purchasing volume of more than 300 million euros, the BEGA Group is the largest marketer of Polish furniture in Germany.
Dieter Hilpert pointed out that in addition to the business contacts with Polish manufacturers, there are also many private family friendships, especially with the Szynaka family.
