The Szynaka Group is one of the largest Polish furniture manufacturers with 3,500 employees and a turnover in 2021 of 1.2 billion zloty (= approx. 267 million euros). The Szynaka Group produces at 8 locations in Poland. With 12 individual companies, the BEGA Group achieved a turnover of 622 million euros last year. With a purchasing volume in Poland of more than 315 million euros, the BEGA Group is the largest marketer of Polish furniture in Western Europe. Last year, the BEGA Group purchased furniture worth 72 million euros from the Szynaka Group. Both companies have been working together for 10 years on the basis of a cooperation agreement. The cooperation agreement grants the BEGA Group exclusive marketing rights for the Szynaka Group’s products in Western Europe. The BEGA Group guarantees the utilisation of production capacities and is the largest export customer of the Szynaka Group. The existing cooperation agreement has expired. On 15.03.2022 the partners concluded a new cooperation agreement which extends the existing agreements by 5 years. Both owners condemn Russia’s criminal war against Ukraine and declare their deep solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The Szynaka Group and the BEGA Group have organised extensive aid for the Ukrainian refugees. The cooperation agreement concluded today takes on special significance due to the Ukraine war. It documents the importance of Poland as a production location for the BEGA Group’s furniture supply. The production alternatives in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia are facing an uncertain future. gez.
